The members of the Berlin Hockey Club, or “BHC” for short, were proud to open their remodeled club house – a perfect reason to celebrate!

The special occasion for celebration was another one though: the venerable Berlin club looked back on more than 100 years of history!

In his contribution to the 100-year anniversary book, the President of the German Sports Association, Manfred von Richthofen – who had been a hockey player for many years himself – wrote:

“100 years of the Berlin Hockey Club – this time span is filled with an extraordinary success record, with significant contributions to the community with its voluntary workers and a family dynasty linked with sport that is unparalleled in Germany. A club which has won 19 German master titles in womens’ and mens’ hockey, 34 junior titles, and has won cups, international trophies and awards for young talent has definitely written hockey history. (…)”

The Berlin Hockey Club is quite rightly seen as the best address for young talent with top-athlete ambitions, but the club has also spread its initiatives to include, for example, programs for seniors, and runs a very active tennis department.

We too find this club very worthy of support, that‘s why we sponsored the club members a very special and spectacular pyro-musical.
