Around 50,000 visitors came to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Berlin’s central station, one of the largest and most modern railway stations in Europe. In the park area between the station and the chancellery, the Spreebogenpark, our renowned pyro- and laser designers, Thomas Schenkluhn and Max Weidling, staged a very elegant multi-level audio-visual show. Very spectacular: to Steve Wonder’s classic “Happy Birthday”, five numeral-explosives were set off – one for each year. They were followed by several highly dynamic step sequences with more than 200 ignition points within 20 seconds. The absolute highlight was, of course, reserved till the end when more than 140 large-scale firework bombs illuminated the sky and the river Spree reflecting along the glass façade of the striking building.
