The Chinese Mooncake Festival is traditionally celebrated in Asia with friends and family. They go on excursions together, have a barbecue and enjoy the moonlight in the open air. In short, it is the ideal occasion to visit one of Berlin’s most beautiful parks and experience a piece of Chinese tradition firsthand.
In the Gärten der Welt, visitors can not only expect an attractive ambience, but also culinary variety and a colourful stage programme. From traditional dances and songs to walk acts and the Beijing opera ensemble that has come to Berlin specially for the occasion, guests get to know Chinese culture and traditions. At the same time, they can enjoy Chinese specialities, teas and of course the famous mooncake to fortify themselves for the final highlight of the evening.
When the sun slowly sets, a colourful lantern procession starts and leads guests through the park to our final show – either into the Chinese Garden or into the Arena of the Gärten der Welt. Here, fireworks, laser effects, graphic projections and flame projectors melt into a brilliant multimedia show, of course combined with traditional Chinese music.
Both locations have their very own charm: In the Chinese garden, the firing positions of the fireworks and our show lasers are distributed around the central lake. In this way we perfectly highlight the scenic backdrop. With its modern architecture and the curved roof, the Arena offers a lot of space and possibilities to integrate it artistically into the show design.
