AmaKristina

Launching with pyro musical and flame picture

Recently in Lahnstein, Germany: AmaWaterways, international acting ocean carrier, launched its new river cruise vessel AmaKristina in a festive setting. The launching ceremony took place at the new pier, co-financed by AmaWaterways. After the successful launching, AmaKristina invited for Dinner and subsequent party with international guests.

The pyro-musical, whose conception and organization happened months in advance in close collaboration with the shipping company, city administration, and on-site authorities, was set up and ignited on a headland between Rhine and Lahn at Lahnsteiner Hafen (Lahnstein Harbour). The ship put out to the firing site where it got into position for the firework. While the firework was being let off, a fire picture was ignited according to a very special wish; initially, only the name of the ship’s godmother Kristin flared up, then the other letters followed so that in the end AmaKristina could be read.

The launching, which took place at the beginning of May, was, however, not just a top-class event on site. Thanks to many press representatives, pictures and videos spread quickly in the media and even flickered over the huge screen of New York Times Square.

We fall in line with the words of the mayor of Lahnstein and wish a safe journey and a hand-span of water under the keel for AmaKristina.
